We left Muzaffarabad and traveled 110 kilometers to reach Sharda, passing through the Neelum Valley and the swift-moving Neelum River. Sharda is a well-liked base camp for many tourists in the area, so there’s a risk you won’t get a place there if you don’t book your trip at least 45 days in advance.

To avoid having to wait hours in line for the chair lift, we departed Sharda early in the morning to go to Kel. It’s no joke, by the way, this chair lift. It is custom-made.
